Don Stewart
B.V.Sc.,M.R.C.V.S.
Don graduated from the University of Queensland in 1966.
After 4 years practising as a vet in Albany Western Australia, he
travelled overseas with his family and worked in many practices
in the U.K. and North America. He finally settled in Canada, where
he spent 15 years as principal of a very busy Vet clinic
Upon returning to Australia in 1988, he established the Floreat
Veterinary Centre. |
Dr Rhonda Itzstein
B.V.Sc.,M.R.C.V.S.
Dr Rhonda Itzstein graduated from Murdoch University in 1980 and
went straight into small animal practice. After locuming for 6 months
Rhonda went into partnership at Kenwick Veterinary Hospital for
the next 2 years. Rhonda then worked at the Subiaco Veterinary Clinic
before taking a break to have her two boys Jason and Jack. Rhonda
then started work at the Cat Haven where she worked for 7 years
before joining our team in February 2007. Rhonda's special interests
include Feline Medicine, Dermatology and Animal Behaviour. |

Dr
Melinda Harvey
B.V.Sc.,M.R.C.V.S.
Dr Melinda Harvey graduated from Murdoch University in 1984. She
began practising in Bunbury doing equine and small animal work.
Melinda then travelled overseas, working in the U.K eventually settling
in South Africa, spending 10 years in small animal practice and
starting a family.
Melinda is married to Nick a South African and has two lovely pre
teenage girls. After returning to Australia in 1987, Melinda has
been working part-time in country mining towns, including Mt Isa
Qld, Cobar NSW AND Kalgoolie.
Melinda is interested in all aspects of small animal medicine and
is very much looking forward to working in a busy city practice.

Tracy -
Practice Manager
Tracy runs our very successful Puppy Pre-school and has a special
interest in canine behaviour, which makes her a favourite with our
new puppy owners! Before starting work at Floreat Veterinary Centre
in October 1999, Tracy nursed at the Gosnells/Maddington Vet Clinic
for 3 years and the Huntingdale Vet Clinic for 6 months.
Tracy is also a qualified RSPCA Dog Trainer and owns Zac, her Golden
Retriever Randy, her thoroughbred horse and Bonnie her gorgeous
cat. |

Jodie - Veterinary Nurse/ Dog Groomer
Jodie has worked as a qualified dog groomer for the past 4 years
and also a qualified vet nurse. Jodie loves all aspects of nursing
and grooming but has a particular interest in nursing. |
Karina
- Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Karina grew up in the small country town of Denmark approx 52km
west of Albany. Karina has always been interested in the animal
care industry and went on to study her final years of high school
at the West Australian College of Agriculture, Denmark. After graduating
from year 12 as the College Captain in 2006, she moved to Perth
to start a traineeship in Veterinary Nursing. As Karina has left
her friends, family and pets in Denmark she has now adopted "Bella"
her new Feline companion. |

Emily -
Veterinary Nurse
Emily our evening and Saturday Veterinary Nurse has recently joined
us from the cat haven. Emily has worked in the animal care industry
for the last 6 years starting at the Fauna Rehabilitation Centre
working with wildlife. Emily then started nursing at the Lansdale
Veterinary Hospital for 2 years before joining the Cat Haven earlier
this year. Emily enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a special
interest in rehabilitating wildlife and canine behaviour. Emily
will also be running part of our popular Puppy Preschool classes. |
Caroline - Veterinary Nurse
Caroline has been nursing since 1986, and qualified in Ireland in
1990.
She arrived in Australia in 1991, and started working at the Floreat
Veterinary Centre at its inception. Caroline then returned to Ireland
for three years but she and her husband Brian soon returned to sunny
Australia. They have recently welcomed a new puppy named Dot into
their family.
Although Caroline's two young sons keep her very busy, she has continued
to work as one of our evening nurses. |
